I began performing solo guitar in restaurants and for wedding ceremonies while attending the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where I gained proficiency on both classical guitar and French horn. Additionally, I have performed in an array of musical groups from wind ensembles to jazz and rock bands.
I teach all ages, beginners through advanced, various genres, and prepare students for music festivals, college guitar study, and competitions. Students are taught a classical/fingerstyle approach to guitar - an efficient way to play the instrument which establishes flexible and expressive musical capabilities.
Frequent pastimes are running along scenic trails and hiking at various places like High Cliff State Park. Beautiful settings like this have been an inspiration for composing music. My music can be heard on YouTube and Apple Music.
Guitar is my preferred musical means of expression but I also enjoy playing bass guitar, ukulele, piano, and Native American flute. On occasion I will pull out the violin, mandolin, or banjo. Many of these instruments are recorded as backing tracks for added music texture during my guitar performances.
